Mike said: oh,no,you are wrong.I have found as below for this question(How do I tip servers if I only carry a debit card?),it will help you,my kids.

I don%26#039;t usually go to places where they serve you, but this week I had went to two of those serving type of places. I really dislike those kinds of retaurants and tend to avoid them because I hate tipping, but at the same time I feel really guilty if I don%26#039;t. I%26#039;ve never really tipped before because I usually go out with friends who take care of the tip for me. This time I went by myself and totally forgot about the fact I would need to tip. I thought it be weird to ask them myself so I just didn%26#039;t give any tip at all even though the servers from both restuarants were nice. So how do I tip? This seems like a really dumb question but I%26#039;m really confused on how to do it.

Okay, so i was a server {i quit for school} and when you pay with a card, it should say on the receipt {where you sign you name} %26quot;Tip:%26quot; and you put the amount of the tip you want.

I understand that you don%26#039;t like leaving tips and i%26#039;m not harping but i waitressed in Ohio and minimum wage for waitresses there are only $3.43 an hour --thats not even a gallon of gas. If they don%26#039;t make their tips, then they don%26#039;t get money and most have families.. I live in West Virginia, but worked in Ohio cause its $2.25 in WV for waitresses.

I hope i didn%26#039;t offend you, lol, i wasn%26#039;t trying to.

but i hope i helped on the tipping with a card. Also, the government taxes the hell out of credit card tips.. lol.

On the bill, they usually have a place where you write in the tip and then add up your total, then you will pay that amount with your card. if you don%26#039;t see it on the bill, ask your server about it.

Cash is always welcome.

Or you can opt to sign for the meal rather than using your pin number; then there%26#039;s an option to add tip on the receipt.

YOU SIMPLY HAVE THEM ADD USUALLY 15% OR SO TO THE BILL.

Usually when using a credit card (or a debit card that goes through a credit system for payments) there%26#039;s an extra blank on your credit receipt, where you can fill in a tip amount if you wish. If you prefer to tip in cash, you can draw a line through that blank (to be safe) and leave the tip on the table when you leave.

If you live in America, the default and socially expected thing to do is tip a minimum of 15% unless the service is really terrible -- waiters%26#039;or waitresses%26#039; pay is very low, as it is assumed that they will get tips to make up the rest of the living wage. Other countries%26#039; social mores concerning tipping can vary, however.
