i just accepted a job offer in a town 20 min. away, but the problem is i don%26#039;t think i want it now. it%26#039;s a 4 week trial period and it pays just a little more then i make at my job now 2 min. away so in the end i%26#039;d really make less because of gas prices. plus its a 4 week trial period so i%26#039;d have to work 80 hour weeks until they decided to hire me in for sure or not. i thought about it and don%26#039;t really want the job. i%26#039;m supposed to start monday. would it be bad if tommorow i called them back and said i can%26#039;t do it? what should my excuse be? thanks

I would pass on it as long as u are happy with the job u have now. If u want more money and your job offers a raise go ask for a raise. I work in a factory and they give a raise once a year only but I work hard and told my boss I was not getting enough pay. he gave me a raise. I work for 20th century fox making DVDs and shipping movies. I knew they could afford to give me that raise.
Starting a new job can be tricky. the company could decide to let u go at the end of the trial period Or the doors on that company could close. You also would be at the end of the list on seniority.

Just call them and meet with them. tell them you have struggled with it for awhile and decided not to leave your job. tell them they have been good to you and you can not take a risky step in your life. Tell them you need to have a stable job where you know that u are secure.

Well, tell them the truth. If you would like to find more opportunities. I suggest that you can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly, which will enlarge you chance to get hired. I would like to recommend you a networking jobsite http://www.jobirn.com It is basically a job board while it has functions of social network. You can chat with HR managers or recruiters directly just via the chat box of the site. Moreover, you can conduct video interview if you like. You can even add other members to %26quot;My Contacts%26quot; list and establish your social network for career. I hope you can find yourself the ideal job. Good luck!

Just be truthful and up front with them. Don%26#039;t even think about giving an excuse, just be open about it and tell them the reason. Thank them for the opportunity and I%26#039;m sure they will understand and appreciate your decision.

No. If you don%26#039;t want the job, no one is making you take it. Although you should have thought of that a little earlier. Whatever you do make sure you let them know you will not be working there. If not they will probably call you a couple times.

Just call them but say thanks but after some consideration I have decided not to accept the offer.

Tell them the truth, thank them for the opportunity and explain that a better situation is now available to you

if you know you won%26#039;t be going to them again for a job, just tell them that you decided to stay where you are. maybe they%26#039;ll offer more cash for you to go there.

it%26#039;s not like they will be references for future job opportunities and I%26#039;m sure people back out all the time if it is a 4 week trial period.

or, if you are feeling feisty, tell your current job that you have an offer at another place. if they ask what they can do, say match the other places pay. but you have to be willing to go ahead and take the other job, otherwise you look flaky and won%26#039;t be getting any raises any time soon.
