Is it possible to contract food poisioning and lock-jaw from eating food cooked over a copper firepit? If it is, what kind of firepit is safe to eat from? ( Stainless Steel, Porcelain, etc.)

Its possible, contact your physician

Other Answers:
never heard of that!!
no that is silly. lockjaw is a sign of tetanus (which by the way is NOT cause by a rusty nail) food poisoning is an entriely different thing and it not caused by cooking somethingin a particular type of vessel but BY not cooking something long enough.
It just causes brain damage... dont worry

i don't think so
not lead
was the food eaten not how it was[or wasn't maybe] cooked.....
In very rare cases, its true.
i dont think so never hered of it
people have been cooking in copper for years, never heard of this one though, but have heard of dangers from microwave ovens and styrophome and plastic containers being used.
Cooking over a copper fire pit is not the cause for someone contracting lockjaw which by the way is tetanus food poisoning is caused by tainted or spoiled food being consumed, or improper cooking of both.
