I dont want any one to know I have a serious problem and I must handle it myself. I do well for about two-three days and then blow it. My 15 year old son is very worried about me
Answers:
First get yourself to calm down. Then imagine the worst substance (piss, vomit, cow dung etc) and replace that with your alcohol.. try drinking 'piss' now..

And if that doesnt help, read the book or attend a course by Anthony Robbins.

You need to seek professional help. Contact your local AAA, and go to a meeting!

try to drink with buddies or your wife, beacuse drinking alone sucks and its depressing. anyways try to controll your drinking, beacuse it can get out of hands, just like frineds dad, it will fk you up. if i were you dont give you son the illusion to be worried about you, i mean your the men of the house you should be worried about them, so drink with your wife or buddies and not to often

oya and dont go to no AAA, trust me if you are strong enough you can do it alone, but if you cant then you can seek AAA, but imagine what will your son say

You have to want to help yourself. Sometimes it seems like we want to but cannot choose to do so. Sometimes a serious problem cannot be solved by yourself. Figure out what triggers your want to drink. Try to find something productive that will discourage drinking such as a new hobby. Think about you son and how he would feel when you get a craving. Last but what I would recommend first, is to pray to God about it. He is always there to listen to our problems.

Sorry to break it to you, but NOBODY can do it on their own. And it is OK to struggle with stuff like that, but ask for help! Go to an AA meeting and they can help you. There's a lot of people that can help you. Everybody doesn't have to know, but somebody does-you know what I'm saying? This isn't stuff people can figure out on their own, sad but true. Me, I'm an addict, and I didn't want to get help for a long, long time, it's scary, but I'm telling you when I finally did get help, it was like the biggest weight off my chest, the biggest relief ever. And don't listen to what's-his-face because if you get help and sober up, your son will be very happy and proud of you. It's not something to be ashamed about. I was only ashamed when I had a problem I wasn't doing anything about, but now that I'm doing something about it, I'm not ashamed anymore. Good luck to you.
