I%26#039;ve wanted to become a vegetarian, so I%26#039;m cutting down on a lot of meats mostly because of the cruel things that happen to certain animals for our %26quot;benefits%26quot;. I feel as if animals have just as much rights as humans -- they once did rule the planet. I know its the life cycle, but I feel like maybe I%26#039;ll be a better person in my mind if I stop eating meats =| It%26#039;s more of a personal thing for me, even though I want to do it for the sake of animals! When I go to college, that%26#039;s when I plan on starting.

%26#039;Coz vegetables cannot get poisonated like envy%26#039;s, after one week also the vegetables are the same vegetables but they are not fresh but not like incase of envies it became poisoned after a day... We are not an animal to eat an envy of the other animal like Lion is hunting a Deer as his food. Thats why im an vegetarian and im proud to be an vegetarian.

Because of the cost of meat! Although I liked the convenience of meat like weiners and lunch meat, it wasn%26#039;t something that I cared much for! When I saw the cost of a package of weiners at $2.49 I thought that outrageous so I became vegetarian. It was the wisest thing I ever did! I%26#039;m healthier because of it so I stay being a vegetarian..I%26#039;m nearly a vegan! I%26#039;ve been vegetarian for nearly 38 years!

I%26#039;ve been a veggie-stick for over a year and a half. I%26#039;m a vegetarian because I love animals. What convinced me to become a veggie was a project I did in school about seal clubbing. I was so upset about the baby seals, when my teacher(who is currently in jail for sleeping with a student, go figure.) mentioned I wasn%26#039;t any better than the people that killed seals because I ate meat. He inspired me, and is one of my favorite teachers, even though I probably won%26#039;t ever see him again. :/

I became a vegetarian because I think that the way we breed, feed, confine, medicate and slaughter animals for food is cruel, inhumane, wasteful, and completely unnecessary. Intensive animal agriculture is bad for animals, bad for people and bad for the environment and I cannot participate in an industry I find so disgusting.

I have been veg*n for 21 years.

I went vegetarian then vegan for ethical reasons (and to a lesser extent environmental reasons). No animal deserves to suffer, particually not for human food.

It%26#039;s almost been one year since i stopped eating meat. I%26#039;m going to celebrate my %26quot;one year since I ate meat%26quot; day with a vegan cake.

I%26#039;ve been a vegan for almost a year. I didn%26#039;t go from omni to vegetarian to vegan. I just went straight to veganism. And I did it because I learned about the environmental impact factory farming has and I was horrified. Later on I learned about the mistreatment of animals and the health benefits and that only backed up my conclusion that I had made the right choice.

i%26#039;ve been one for a while
because i researched how we get the meat from animals
and its disgusting.
plus i was reading what another vegetarian said and she stated
%26quot;i became a vegetarian after my friend came back after the 9/11 accident and told me he couldn%26#039;t stand the smell of burnt flesh. Which reminded me of barbecues%26quot;

i find it really funny when people think that ALL vegetarians are the same...eg: %26quot;my friends are vegetarian and its so stupid%26quot; I dont consider myself, a college graduate, stupid...
answer from chineseop.com cooking QA
You actually aren%26#039;t a vegetarian,you eat animal flesh,namely fish and chicken.

I have been a true vegetarian over 40 years.

I became veggie for moral,religious and ethical reasons.
